Trying to decide between Proshredz and Owens Corning fiberglass insulation. Does Owens Corning provide better heat retention or are they both pretty similar?

idk man, without knowing the specific R value of the Proshredz insulation you're considering, you can't really say whether Owens Corning offers better heat retention.
You need to compare the R values of the specific products you are interested in. They could be quite similar if their R values and thicknesses are comparable

Fair point @CircuitGeek Guess I'll have to track down the R values for both before making the call. If they're close, it might just come down to cost or installation ease. Have you used either, or just speaking from experience with insulation in general?

The R value is stamped right on the packaging, so that part's easy to compare and installation ease is usually identical, where brands sometimes differ is compression resistance and how much they irritate your skin, but that's more about the day you're installing than long term performance.

My apologies for the slow follow up. This project got put on the back burner but I'm planning it out again now. This is a really good point on compression resistance, I was only focused on the R-value. Have you found that any particular brand keeps its loft better after being installed?
