Underfloor insulation for elevated home

My house is elevated on stilts above a canyon, which gives me amazing views but also means I deal with some pretty harsh winter drafts and the constant noise of traffic from below. I'm considering options like Rockwool or foam insulation. I need something that offers good thermal insulation, soundproofing, and pest resistance. What have you found to be effective?

I'm using Rockwool, it's a great choice and a good balance of cost and performance.

Seal the underside with closed cell foam or rigid boards to kill drafts, then pack Rockwool in walls/ceilings for noise and thermal. That way you get tight air control plus sound absorption.

If you choose Rockwool, just make sure to carefully air seal around gaps in the floor cavities. And also, the foam can still be useful in tighter spots where air leakage is the main problem.

A combo works best, foam underneath to block drafts, then rockwool in the cavities for noise and extra insulation. I agree with both

For elevated homes, a combination usually works best. Apply closed-cell foam or rigid insulation under the floor to block drafts and moisture, then fill the floor cavities with Rockwool for thermal insulation, sound dampening, and pest resistance. Make sure all gaps are well sealed so you get both airtightness and noise reduction.
