Finally figured out why one bedroom has been freezing all winter, I found squirrels had systematically moved the blown in insulation from above that room to build a massive nest on the opposite end of the attic and now the distribution is completely uneven now because some areas are bare down to the drywall, others seem to be piled up way thicker than spec. They also tore through the vapor barrier in multiple spots getting material for the nest, real bad
Anyway, pest control is handling the eviction, but now I'm looking at redistributing everything or just adding new material on top. The existing stuff is contaminated enough that I think I'll just have to remove it all and start afresh
But I would also like to ask if there's a way to salvage some of it or if contaminated insulation is just a total loss for me
