insulation for well

Hi, I'm planning to insulate my well, thinking about using the rockwool, but I worry if it would contaminate the water
my second option is probably the EPS foam board (fill in around the pipe with sand, then place a cap of EPS foam board on top of it)
which one do you think is the best way to do this? or maybe you guys have better ideas? hit me with your thoughts!

EPS foam board is the safer choice and rockwool near a well makes me nervous too, there might be chance of fibers getting into the water

I wouldn't worry, rockwool is considered non toxic in its typical use. it made of inorganic fibers and is naturally hydrophobic, it's fine
