Weekend workspace insulating metal roof

I'm turning my metal garage into a weekend workshop. I'm putting up a foam board ceiling, but I'm worried about moisture getting trapped in that space. Anyone have tips?

If you've got a damp climate or your garage temps jump around, think about putting up a vapor barrier over that foam board. When in doubt about where moisture's headed, go with a breathable one.

How about using foil-faced foam boards that already have a barrier built in? This can also help. One more thing, you might want to consider adding vents or an exhaust fan. It can reduce condensation and help air move through.

Make sure you give that foam board ceiling a vented airspace above it (or below the metal roof) so moisture can escape. Pair that with a good vapor barrier under the foam, and you’ll reduce the chance of condensation.
