Reusing wool scraps for attic

Got a bunch of wool insulation scraps left over from another job, wondering if I can pack it into my attic for extra R value instead of buying new batts. Will it settle weird or cause issues? Seems wasteful to toss perfectly good material but don't want moisture problems either

The settling isn't a huge issue since you're just adding to existing insulation, but try to fluff the scraps out evenly rather than just cramming them in dense. If the scraps are really small pieces, they might be more hassle than they're worth to spread evenly, but anything decent sized should be good to go, I see no point wasting material you already have
