Insulation removal

I helped a friend clean out his attic after some mice got in, they chewed through a vent and made a mess. We had to take out all the old insulation, and it made me wonder if insulation removal be a service on its own? Some people just want the old stuff gone before they fix things or put in new insulation. Has anyone tried offering just removal? Does it work well, or do most customers want both removal and install? Thanks for any tips!

Definitely! Insulation removal is a viable service on its own. I've been in the business for a while, and we get calls all the time from people who just need the old insulation gone due to pests, water damage, or before they start a major renovation. Of course, the other type of customer wants a full-service job so offering both is key. I've found it's smart to quote them as separate line items. It's a great niche to offer and it can lead to more full-install jobs!

Yeah, there’s definitely a market for just removal, lots of homeowners don’t want to deal with the mess themselves, so they’ll pay for that part alone and pairing it with install just makes it easier to upsell

Some homeowners just want the old stuff out before repairs or upgrades, so there’s a market for it and a lot of customers do prefer it bundled with new installation since it saves them from coordinating multiple contractors
