First picture is my first attempt at insulating a cast iron ptrap. 2nd picture is my second attempt but don't know how to make the next cuts to fit.

At a certain point I think you'll need to cut the insulation open and somehow wrap it around the pipe and fix it so it stays there. Zipties?

The first image is my finished wrap the second is the existing wrap done by another campany who knows when which i tried to match up.
